Wet Tail (Diarrhoea): Wet, foul-smelling bottom. Requires immediate antibiotics.
Tumour / Abscess: A rapidly growing lump. Needs to be distinguished — pus-filled abscess (drainable) versus cancer.
Scabies: Thick, crusty skin with intense itching. Requires micro-dose antiparasitic injection.

Common Reptile Cases (Turtles / Iguanas)

Pneumonia (Respiratory Infection): Foamy nose, wheezing, lethargy. Often caused by incorrect UV/heat lamp settings.
Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD): Soft, deformed bones or shell due to calcium deficiency and insufficient UV exposure.
Dystocia (Egg Binding): Unable to lay eggs. Requires calcium/hormone injection or surgery.

Why is my turtle gaping and struggling to breathe?

That is a sign of pneumonia (lung infection). It is usually caused by an enclosure that is too cold or too damp. Immediate antibiotic injection and nebulisation treatment are needed.

Can a hamster's tumour be surgically removed?

It is possible, but the anaesthetic risk is high. We will first assess the heart and overall physical condition. If surgery is viable, the case will be referred to a partner clinic with microsurgery equipment.

My hamster has Wet Tail (watery diarrhoea) — can it recover?

Wet Tail is extremely dangerous and can be fatal within 48 hours. Immediate antibiotics and fluid therapy are essential. Never give human diarrhoea medication to a hamster!
